Vehicles covered by our Mechanical Breakdown Warranties are subject to the following terms and conditions and exclusions as they appear in our policy documents.
This Warranty applies to the motor vehicle described herein provided it is a vehicle in current use, which at the time of issue of this Warranty has covered less than 100,000 miles (unless otherwise agreed).
Any supplying dealer must conduct a pre-delivery inspection and confirm that so far as is reasonably possible, the covered components are in sound condition.
Private clients must confirm that the service history is complete.
The vehicle should be serviced at the correct time/mileages in accordance with the manufacturers' recommendations. A maximum allowance of 500 miles either side of the stipulated mileage or four weeks either side of the stipulated time period is made.
The vehicle must be serviced by Auto Warranty Direct Limited at our own workshops, or a Auto Warranty Direct Limited appointed agent.
Ensure that the vehicle Service Schedule Book is fully endorsed by the garage carrying out the service and keep invoices for production in the event of a claim.
The geographical limit of the warranty is the United Kingdom.
No refund or part refund will be given.
The Warranty cannot be transferred to another vehicle.
The Warranty will not be considered valid until payment has been recieved in full, either from the issuing dealer or individual client.
Important Notice
Regarding Timing Belts / Camshaft Belts
It is of paramount importance that timing belts/camshaft belts fitted to your vehicle are in sound condition and are adjusted and checked in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations. If you are in any doubt that this has not been done or do not have proof, such as a detailed service receipt, the the belt
MUST
be replaced. Proof of this will be required in the event of a claim as belt failure
WILL CAUSE EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE
, and Auto Warranty Direct Limited
will not accept liability for damage caused by worn or incorrectly adjusted belts.
Exclusions
Body structure, panels, in-car entertainment, paint, glass, communication systems, air bags, exhaust, catalytic converter, engine and gearbox mountings, electrical wiring and wiring loom, V belts, HT leads and consumables.
Any loss, unless the client has had the vehicle serviced up to date, as per the manufacturer's recommended service schedule.
Any loss where the odometer has been tampered with, altered or disconnected.
Repairs, replacements or alterations not authorised by
Auto Warranty Direct Limited,
including experimental equipment or modifications from the manufacturer's specifications.
Vehicles used for hire or reward, commercial vehicles including car derived vans or vehicle used for rallying, competition or 'track day' use.
Any repairs, loss, damage or liability which is claimable on any other existing warranty, insurance or guarantee.
Any damage to a unit or units which are either subject to recall by the manufacturer or can be considered as having inherent design faults.
Any failure which in the opinion of an independent engineer, was caused wholly or partly from the lack of maintenance or neglect in taking preventative steps.
Any failure due to a foreign matter getting onto or into a component's parts.
Any loss caused by the effect of overheating.
The gradual reduction in operating performance commensurate with the age and mileage covered by the vehicle subject of this warranty.
This includes but is not limited to: -
Gradual loss of engine power/compression necessitating the repair of valves or rings.
Gradual increase in oil consumption due to normal operating functions.
No liability will be accepted for faults caused by lack of lubrication or anti-freeze.
